To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptySat Nov 11, 2017 2:48 am

Her wrist are healed. The pain no longer registering. Her thoughts are own, as they replay what happened then them all. Her mind plays tricks, showing a different outcome. What could have been. They had been so close to the end. They thought was the most scariest of them all. Her family dead.

A gently breeze brings with it the scent and warmth of the sun, grass, earth, and the   scent of life. Gold eyes blink then take in her surroundings. A new place. A new home. A new beginning. Again...

Her stomach quenches what they lost; what was left behind...

Long. Slender fingers pull away from the ground, and with it, the connection she created with this place.

She thought of her friends, Blaze and Kara..she smiled thinking about them. Their love and was thankful they had one another. She wouldn't yet bother them this day. She knew where they were in a general sense. Blade...well he was. Around and so was Aiden...

Hands clapped against either side of her face, the shock bringing her from her thoughts. She had rested enough, now it was time to be useful. With her connection she forged with the land, the land had its own way if protecting itself but she wanted it to be a bit better. This giving her the excuse to travel to the human market. Not only would she be able get some supplies, but she could also get a sense of the people. The journey would take a few days, but she wanted to explore and gather information. They were safe in these woods but how long   would last? With her mind made up, she gave the place one last look and stepped forward beginning the journey.

"Loyalty should only be given to those willing to lower themselves to pick it up."

A loud slap filled the area as a thick muscular neck snapped backwards, a large hunk of flesh coming free from the carcass of a rabbit. It had been so long since the male could run freely in his most favoured form, and he had taken the chance to do so for the first time since they had arrived and ate his fill.
He ate slowly, filling his stomach with caution, knowing that if he ate too fast after such a long time fasting, it could result in a day in the den; but once the carcass was clean, Benjamin sat up and stretched his tongue to reach the hard to reach places on maw and clean himself.
After a moment of respite and a time to let his meal settle, the male stood at full height and began in a slow trot to explore the surroundings. Emerald eyes scanned the forest land and with his mouth slightly agape, he scented the air. They had spent several days in their newly made den, had Kara and he, they had been so exhausted upon arrival that he could not remember if they had scouted the area. Although, he assumed they had. There had not been such a careless mistake made for years.

With no sign of other wolves or shifters in the area, Benjamin began marking the territory to make it their own. It did not last long, how ever, as thoughts grew thickly of his family. Aleria. Blade. Kit. Justin. Maylin; and worry began to fill him. He had caught wind of each in turn, Blade and Aleria having been the strongest and ore frequent, but only for a brief second before losing it, and no matter how he tried there was no sign of permanence to them; but Blaze was no tracker, and through the past year or so, with the infiltration of Oxen Corporation, his family had grown exceptionally well at concealing themselves. His only hope was just that. A deep and animalistic urge coursed through his gut, making it churn and turn the more he ignored it, but he could not let loose the song to call them. Yes, they had blown the head quarters to smithereens, but there was no real telling if they were truly free, and howling would be a sure way to get himself captured once more, or worse – Kara, who he had left close by at the den.
Light dappled his course coat as he solemnly wandered through the trees. The sun light danced upon the coppery colour of his fur where it touched, and glowed with the likeness of the fierce flames of a fire. It would do nothing to conceal his form, he knew, but he was large and strong enough to ward off most predators he might meet and skilled enough to protect himself from others.
A soft breeze blew, raking fingers gingerly through thickly mane like fur that grew around his neck. He stopped for a brief moment to catch the scents that lingered there, opening his jaws ever so slightly to taste what was hidden; and he felt his body stiffen. Ear perched high atop that huge crown his posture straightened, which had become slumped with absent thought, and swung his neck around.
After a moment of silence and nothing but the sounds of nature to fill his ears, he gave voice to the scent that had graced his senses, “Aleria?
Her name fell from his lips in the wolven language, but she would understand his words, no matter how softly they were spoken. They were kin and she was close.

To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptyThu Feb 15, 2018 8:46 am

"Everyone has a chapter they won't read out loud."
Kara had decided that the only thing worse than living with someone else in your mind was living without them, the silence and lack of internal dialog was something that she was learning to dislike. It was as if even though they were free from the restraints of the Oxen, she was still trapped in her own thoughts. Days had passed and her body began the healing process, slowly but surely the bruising was lightening and her energy restored while they rested in the peace that this new land offered. Blaze had been more adventurous, leaving the den and checking the surrounding areas. She could see the light in his emerald hues as the man and beast once again reacquainted with undisturbed nature.

While on the other hand, Kara was more apprehensive, only coming out of the immediate den area for short amounts of time like catching a small meal or bathing. It wasn't all fear that hindered her, but uncertainty. She didn't know where they were or how they ended up here. This new land seemed beautiful and untouched for the most part but would the Oxen follow? A small part of her in the back of her mind toyed with the idea that this was all a dream or simulation brought on by the scientist and she was still back at the lab. Each day, Kara relaxed a little more inside, all the while doing everything she could to seem alright to Blaze.
She needn't worry him, the smiles she would catch on his face when returning to the den after a run made her feel bad to be in a sorry state of mind while in his presence. She rathered see the happiness then make him worry after everything they had all been through.

The day had begun with Blaze setting out early, barely jostling her from her sleep even though late morning approached. The sun began to filter into the den and the temperature rose with the sun, causing a sleepy Kara to finally stir awake. She yawned and stretched though it was quickly withdrawn as sore muscled still protested the extended movements. An audible grumble was heard from her muzzle as crimson eyes flickered open slowly. The den was quiet as she vaguely remembered Blaze leaving earlier, yawning once again and pulling her body to a sitting position. Ears flopped lazily to the side as her gaze cast slowly around the den, stomach growing in protest all the while. With some internal motivation and a serious pep talk about not staying in the den all day, Kara finally shook the sleep from her fur and padded softly out of the den.

The forest was quiet, serene and peaceful as she emerged into the sun with narrowed eyes. The rays danced off the red in her fur and seemed to make her eyes luminescent as Kara opened her senses. It had been some time since Blaze had left, the faintness of his scent told her that much while her muzzle ghosted above the earth with deep breaths taking in scents. The grumbling again persisted in her stomach and an annoyed look crossed her face for only a second. Sighing, she looked back at the den before leaving its perimeter and following that of her mates.

Her pace stayed at a jog as she trailed his scent, weaving through the forest until she came across a carcass. His scent was all over it and her muzzle drooled slightly. Ears perked as rusting was heard nearby, eyes searching for what she initially thought was Blaze but in fact was a small wild boar. Kara's small body dropped down as belly hit the earth, ears perked upon her crown as she took in the scent of the boar with every breath. Hunger had driven her from the den, she would take down the boar and ear her fill before finding Blaze. The animal came in closer, unaware of the predator that lurked just yards away. She had decided against her use of the darkness for now as she feared her control but as a wolf, she was free to be herself. Taking in a deep breath and slowly releasing it, she shot off like a bullet and before the boar could turn and run Kara was upon it. The animal thrashed as she bit down on the top of its neck, attempting to break the spine but thick skin and a stocky build wouldn't allow her to sink her teeth in deep enough. They battled for a short time before the wolf bested her prey and he fell to the earth, Kara licking her chops as her stomach growled for the last time today.

Once she was full, her search began again as Kara circled back to the initial carcass and reclaimed the trail she followed. She hadn't traveled far before she seen the form of her mate, standing ahead of her at attention. Her head cocked to the side as her paws pressed against the soft earth with her slow approach as to not startle him. She wondered what he was looking at but the name that fell from her lips made her heart skip a beat. "Aleria? Have you found her? Is she ok?" Kara asked from behind, giving herself away with the hope in her voice.

To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptySat Feb 17, 2018 1:16 am

Aleria thought of her pack often as she roamed this new land, getting more familiar with it day by day as she followed the pulse of their pack bond. It had taken days, but she felt like she was close, the bond was stronger in this direction, pulsing as if the others were out there.

A male from Arcane had helped her escape and little did he know, but she used the pack ties to direct them on their journey. She and the male Aiden, helped each other, but it was still awkward as the two had been strangers, so it was to know surprise to Aleria as she finally awoke in the makeshift shelter they had created that she was alone. Aiden’s scent was not strong, indicating he hadn’t been there for at least a day. The scientist and Blade had truly done a number on her, and the trek to this place did not help. Aleria was probably more of a burden to the male the entire trip, but she vaguely remembered it having been to tired and as weak as a babe.

As she as she was able, she had fallen into a deep sleep to heal that damage that was done. Still not at one hundred percent, Aleria did not wish to remain without her pack any longer. They all had suffered a the hands of the Oxen Corporation, and although she rarely spoke of traumas that had happened to her, just being surrounded by her loved ones would help her heal both physically and emotionally.

She had hoped that the male would have stuck around, she would have taken to him her family, they could have helped him, but that was a moot point as he was not there. Should she stay and see if he returned, but she didn’t her pack was out there and she could help them. It would also help them know she was alive as well. Aiden could find her if he needed her.

Sending a thank you his way, she left to find her pack.

The wounds from Blade’s claws had healed, but the puncture marks in her wrist had not fully healed. Should not shift as it would tear the wounds a knew, her front legs would be useless, and it would take up the energy she had restored, which was not much. She hadn’t the strength to conjure new clothes either, her attire a reminder of what they had left behind.

The trek from where she and Aiden had landed and now to where the bonds led her was days away, but it gave her time to reflect over what had happened, the whole ordeal and she tried very hard to forget about it, her thoughts drifted to Blade. She hoped he was well and that he didn’t beat himself up over what happened; it wasn’t his fault. Tired, she rested against a tree, her hand laying over her heart as it gave a frantic skip. She was close she could feel it.

As if drawn, she turned her head, a feeling of hope swelled, could they just be over that bend? With the strength of hope growing more, she pushed from the tree; it was only a little further! She crested the hill and not far from there she spotted two figures close together, relief flooded her system. She had found them! Fresh happy tears streaked down her dirt and grimed face, a smile formed on her lips. “Blaze! Kara!

"Loyalty should only be given to those willing to lower themselves to pick it up."

Black ears flickered at the top of his crown to the sounds of softly falling paws upon the ground. Despite the litheness of her approach, Blaze heard Kara before she had spoken thanks to the dry leaves that covered the forest floor. He turned his head to put emerald eyes upon his love, a warm smile upon his maw at the sight of her. How ever, it quickly faded at her question.
I can't be sure it's her.” He told her with a soft voice, more akin to a warning for caution. He could feel Aleria through the bond they shared, he knew she was close, but the land was foreign it waned on the side of caution. None of them knew what was awaiting behind the next tree.
He took a step back to make the distance between him and his mate smaller, moving his neck to face in the forward direction once more. A rushed noise moved through the brush, it made no effort to conceal itself as it approached fast. The pull of the family bond grew, but Blaze knew better than to completely give hope to it and so he must not react to the wanting movement of his legs to push towards his pack mate; but as Aleria burst over the crest of the hill, he immediately gave way. Energy surged through his muscles and he plunged forward, legs pumping under his body to carry him to Aleria as an involuntary whine left his open maw. The male sprung forward and upward, massive fore paws, bigger than Alerias hands, coming to land upon her shoulders and push her back onto the ground behind.
It felt as though it had been an age since he had seen his sister, and he could not contain the excitement that over took him then. The long copper tassel, whipping frantically from side to side, moving his entire back end as the male made no attempt to hide his obvious glee. Blaze placed his forehead against Alerias, bright emerald eyes boring into those golden hues before he rubbed his face into hers, a greeting he had always performed with his family; and a long pink tongue slipped from open jaws to run length-ways from her chin to her hair before he lay his weight upon her, his body slipping from hers so as not to crush her under his complete bodily mass but also to make room for Kara, and nuzzled into her gently. “I am so glad to see you safe, my darling.” He told her, relishing this moment the three of them shared.

To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptyThu Feb 22, 2018 1:33 pm

He had been feeling the pull and draw of their special connection for quite some time now, but had been resisting it. The mere thought of what he had done to Aleria, was enough to make him very uneasy fuzzy though the memories may be. As a result, he had been running mostly alone during the time that he had been in this new land, keeping just enough of an eye on the shared bonds to feel comfortable that the others had made it to the new land. Though now, however, as it felt the others were drawing closer and closer together, he decided that maybe he should be able to get close to them without feeling too much shame.

He had not seen Blaze since they had rescued Kara from the Oxen Corp bastards, he had been capture shortly after while trying to help Aleria. The most he had known was that, at his last awareness, the two of them had been safely in the shadow realm, in Castle Blackthorne, where no one would have been able to get to them without some serious difficulty.

Following the draw of feelings, he tracked to where he was able to see Blaze and Kara. He remained out of sight for a short while, observing the both of them, seeing that they were both ok after the hell of Arcane. Before he was able to make himself known, however, Aleria showed with her usual flurry of emotions that always made him smile. Giving things just a moment to settle down, he forced himself to advance, and make himself known.

"Hey everyone." he said simply.

To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptyFri Feb 23, 2018 2:45 am

"Everyone has a chapter they won't read out loud."
The speed at which he paws fell against the earth slowed as she neared Blaze, he didn't seem startled by her approach so he must have sensed her coming. In natural defense, Kara's body lowered just a fraction of an inch as the space between them closed and she came to a stop just short of her mate. Crimson hues were trained ahead of her and down the path towards the direction that Blaze had been looking, waiting to see if she too, would see or feel something in the distance. As his gaze turned back and the smile on his maw formed, she couldn't help the instant reaction that caused a similar reaction all the while her tail swayed happily behind her. It was as if she moved in sync with him while he took a step back she took another forward. Standing with Blaze she could feel the apprehension in his form, like a tightly wound spring waiting to snap. Breathing slowed and she turned her senses away from that of her mate once again in hopes that her family would be close

It seemed as if it was only seconds before the wind that gently blew over the hill carried with it the scent of Aleria, circling around her in the gentle breeze like a soft hug. She relished in the familiarity if it, Aleria was always warm and her presence had a way of bringing forth a sense of comfort. As her mind reeled for the briefest of moments she lost herself until the feeling of Blaze's form bursting forward, the unsettled dirt from his paws fell back to the earth as Kara snapped from her own mind and watched the scene unfold. A smile was unmistakable on her muzzle and what would have been a giggle escaped as she watched the reunion. Her paws began to bring her forth at a trot but she gave them time to enjoy a greeting before cresting the top of the hill with them.

As Blaze moved to the side, Kara approached in a much gentler fashion though the excitement was barely contained as she ran her body against Aleria's over and over while her tail swayed in a fast blur. She moved in happy circles around her friend, yipping and whimpering as greeted her. It was a huge sense of relief as she knew from the lycan who aided the humans in her capture had told her of Aleria's capture and the knowledge that she was also locked in an unknown state while Kara was helpless to get to her friend was embedded in Kara's mind. The worry was now over as she was here and together they were all one step to being safer and rebuilding the lives they had to leave behind.

Countless faces and names passed through Kara's mind as she thought of the others who she hadn't seen, she wondered what fates they had come upon and if she would ever see them again. Slowly as if unwilling she stepped back from Aleria, afraid if she lost touch with the female she would simply disappear, Kara, moved back to give her some room knowing there was probably much to be talked about. As if on cue the rustle of forest and the soft crunch of earth was heard as Blade seemed to appear as per his usual fashion, greeting them in a nonchalant way that made Kara giggle inside. He would always be the same Blade regardless of what they went through she Kara was silently grateful for that. Another yip sounded from the females mouth, excitement shining in the crimson eyes of the small wolf.

Kara moved away from the two she stood with to greet Blade in the same fashion, running her furred body against his legs in greeting while staring up at him happily. It seemed that the majority of their little refugee group was back together and her heart felt as if it would burst from the onslaught of happiness and love she felt for them. Looking back to Blaze and Aleria, Kara couldn't hide the smile that showed almost all of her pearly white teeth.

To know thy Neighbor Empty
PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptySat Feb 24, 2018 12:38 am

A grin spread across her features as recognition dawned. She had finally found them. Her glee was shared with all as Blaze barreled into her knocking her over. She laughed, her arms wrapping about his neck, her fingers curled into his fur as she breathed in the familiar scent. It felt like a lifetime ago that she had she seen him and Kara. As he rested his forehead on hers, she closed her eyes and just savored the feeling of pack bonding and healing. As Kara came to her side, her arm swept out and pulled her close as she cuddled into them both. The bonds between them blazing with intensity as they all needed healing. She hoped everyone escaped and hoped to across more of their friends.

Along the pack bonds she frowned ever slightly as a new feeling was almost as overwhelming, the ache had started as she made her way to her family. (Distancing from Aiden). She puzzled over it, but soon she could feel Blade’s approach, she had long since forgiving him of any misdeeds he conducted whilst at the hands of the corporation. Her love for him never wavered.

As Kara left to greet him, she looked past Blaze’s shoulder and smiled, extending her hand to him. She didn’t know how he felt now, after their encounter.

What happened between them, Kara and Blaze didn’t need to know or at least she wouldn’t say anything to them. After all, there was nothing for her to say.

"Loyalty should only be given to those willing to lower themselves to pick it up."

Upon Kara moving around Aleria in a glee filled manner, Benjamin had laughed softly before he was drawn to lay his head beside Aleria and relished the soft fingering of his fur at her hands.
Whilst, in these moments, the male was as happy as he had been since he could remember, thoughts of the absence in family whom should have been there at tat moment still plagued his wandering mind. For a moment he allowed his deep emerald hues to wander the horizon; and, as if it were a calling card, a familiar sense tugged at the furthermost reaches of his mind.
Benjamin had to stop and lean up, still rested upon his sister, to crane his neck and swing it around in search. Like an annoying twinge inside the mind, a feeling that is altogether there and not there, he could feel the presence of Blade, and knew that he was not at all far from the reunion. Yet, he felt his friend withdraw momentarily in hesitation. it caused Benjamin to sit upright and to attention, head swinging softly to and fro as deep hues scanned the area.
Then, with the soft bristling of leaves against thick course fur, emerged the massive black beast from within the shadows of the brush. Benjamin pushed to his feet and met the purple gaze of his brother with a wolfish smile upon his maw.
"You're late." He jested with a soft snicker, pausing briefly before closing the gap between them swiftly. Those soft mossy orbs closed as their foreheads met, Blaze had to crane his neck high to reach his brother in the way that was intended. He could feel the hesitation sifting from Blade like a soft mist, the tension was thickly and washed over Blazes tongue as he smelt it. In a bid to rid himself of the confusion, Blaze circled his friend slowly, pressing his wet leathered nose into the thick of black fur to assess his friends in a series of smells and sweeping gazes.
He halted at the flank of Denarius and followed his gaze towards the two females, deciding to allow the scene to play out as it might have otherwise been intended before seeking council with Blade in private.

PostSubject: Re: To know thy Neighbor   To know thy Neighbor EmptyMon Mar 19, 2018 2:06 pm

Blade tilted his head down to make it easier for Blaze to reach his head, Blaze actually had about 2 inches on him in height. But, that was the only thing the other male had over him. "And your point is?" Blade replied with a smarmy grin back at him. Making another bit of eye contact with Blaze, a tilt of the head conveyed that he would be willing to talk later as he wanted. He then dipped his head and shoulders to playfully bat at Kara as she wound her way between his legs. "What are you, a cat?" He laughed, feeling a true bit of happiness at the reception he had recieved before looking to where Aleria was still on the ground, he got an idea in his head. Before she could get up, he made his way over and flumped(Yes, its a word, and it surprised me too), down across out stretched legs, pinning her there. Then, he twisted his head around, and opened his massive maw, dragging a proportionally large tongue from her chin to forehead trying to get a reaction out of her, before nuzzling his shaggy black head into her shoulder. To the unknowing, it would definitely look like a smaller human woman surrounded by a normal sized wolf, and two monsters, but, to any who knew them, it was a happy little reunion.
