Toggle categories/ widgets Reputation system This feature works using a voting system and this is how we will determine Writer of The Month.
The general idea of the way this works is as follows:

You will notice on the top, right side of someone else’s post that there will be a small + and – sign. Like so:


This concerns the “Reputation” part. You will notice that the Reputation is at 0.

If you read some ones post and think ”Wow, that is simply amazingly written!” then you can praise that said post by clicking the “+” to the right as shown above.
This will cast a vote for that post, and add a voting point towards the member. The vote is anonymous, so they will not know you have voted for them. That users Reputation will go up a single point.

It works the same way if you do not enjoy the post at all. Let's say that they have God Modded in the post, or Power Played your character and you do not approve, then you may cast a vote against them by clicking the “-”. This will then take a point from their Reputation.

To keep things fair, you may only cast a Reputation Point once per hour.

It always nice to know that someone is enjoying your writing other than you, so do as you would hope people would for you! Cast a vote and make some ones day.

Of this does not mean you cannot mess around like: Name here pushes his friend. But please no real In Character posting. We want to enure that In Character is left to the boards. This is because in the past we have allowed Role Playing within the Chat Box and people tend to stop using the boards, instead forming plots and playing them out in the chat box. This leaves no evidence of stories and excludes people from joining threads and plotting, ultimately secluding members.
The Chat Box has a toggle option so it does not get in the way if you are busy.


To Open the Chatbox: You will see at the top of the forum, underneath the Hiraeth logo, there is a user control Panel with click links, underneath this box you have a box that reads “Click to Open Chatbox” Clicking this will open the Chatbox – Ofcourse.

To close the Chatbox:
Once the chatbox is open, you will notice at the top of it it reads “Click to close Chatbox”, click this to close the Chatbox.

There are also commands that you can use within the chat box that will be helpful. Such as:

• "/me" -
  In the beginning of a sentence, this command will be replaced by your username (ex: /me eats a delicious pizza" will display "Username eats a delicious pizza")
• "/exit" -
  Disconnect from the Chatbox. You can also give a reason that will be visible for all members connected (ex: /exit reason)
• "/abs" -
  Send a message notifying others that you're absent. You can add a reason that will be displayed in the message and visible by all members connected to the Chatbox (ex: /abs reason). Please note that the command /away does the same.

And there you have it. Easy as pie.

What do we consider a Category? Well:


These are Categories. To reitterate, The Hiraeth Categories are devided into:

• The Beginning Journey.
• In Character.
• Territorial Posting.

Now, if you look at the top of each Category Header, you will see the name of the Category, Eg: "In Character", further to the right you will see, "Last Post". Now, right beside that to the right you will see a small "-".
Clicking this will hide the Category all together, condensing the forum. If you wish to reopen the Category, just click the "+" that has now replaced the "-".
